New York is at a crossroads, and I have decided to run for the State Senate to restore our city. My top three priorities are:
Amend Bail Reform - By improving public safety to keep our streets secure, I will create a safer Staten Island and Brooklyn. I will provide law enforcement with the funding necessary to keep New York safe, and the tools they need to do their jobs. I will oppose any efforts to defund the police.
Restore Proper Childhood Education - Despite the billions of dollars allocated to public education, our system is failing our children. This should never have been tolerated. With oversight of NYC Mayoral Control and The New York Department of Education, I will fight to ensure all schools are properly funded and strictly enforce age appropriate learning in elementary, middle and high schools.
Stop Political Corruption - Quality of life has diminished for all the wrong reasons due to political theater. Long-time establishment officials are allowing our New York to be sold and diluted for their long-term gain. Any political corruption should be investigated including Former Governor Cuomo and the Nursing Home scandal and his book deal, as well as Governor Hochul and the Buffalo Billion deal. No elected official regardless of party, should escape scrutiny.
At this point in our lives, we all have been made to believe that nothing can change, that both teams are on the same side and that our votes and voices don’t matter. I’m here to challenge that belief! I’m here to put faith back into our state by tearing down and purging the political systems that have plagued our Island and made my neighbors flee to other states.
Here is my plan to Restore Our New York:
If we don't have fair elections, we have nothing. The path to restoring election integrity was made clearer recently by the New York Supreme Court decision to not allow non-citizens to vote. There is still much to be done with drop-off boxes, easily manipulatable voting machines and the countless intimidation tactics that the extreme leftists have used for years to hold their power.
I will make money sound again. Our government is destroying our nation by making the dollar worthless. Gas prices and inflation are a direct reflection of democratic mismanagement. I will aggressively address this and not only stop it, but help our state flourish.
Parents will be given a say in their child’s education. This will entail the restoration of advanced classes and no more intimate secret keeping by teachers. Sexuality guised as ‘identity discussion’ has no place in the early education classroom.
I will pursue harsher sentences on violent crime and amend bail reform. One of the main reasons that people have fled our city is the increasing violence, and crime on the North Shore is affecting property values. I will make sure that violent men and women will not be released and will face their consequences for years to come.
I will be a tireless advocate for persons with disabilities and seniors – people who cannot advocate for themselves. Fair housing complaints from persons with disabilities represent approximately 70% of all complaints, yet only a very small percentage of fair housing training addresses this demographic. Seniors are victims of scams every single day, losing from hundreds of dollars to literally millions, yet no one is going after the scammers. I have a plan to tackle this.
People of influence are draining the effectiveness of our resources by skimming from the top and keeping career political positions without accountability. I will work unremittingly to stop political corruption and restore integrity to our city.
Hardcore narcotics such as fentanyl and oxycodone have plagued our city, killed thousands, and left many parents and children grieving in their wake. I will clean these streets up and provide funding for treatment for recovery and mental health. Real actions need to be taken. The millions of dollars thrown at the problem so far have not even stalled this crisis. I will also provide funding to family members for counseling, as they suffer greatly and often do not know how to effectively cope with the situation.
I will work to fight for property rights and to support laws that are fair to landlords, in turn opening more housing for tenants. Programs need to be addressed in order to attract more landlords. I am working with NYCHA tenant advocates to cut through the rhetoric that has left tenants in unsafe apartments and buildings. Eviction laws can keep non-paying, apartment-destroying tenants in their homes for years. This must stop.
I will help build incentives to bring back the hard-working people who were persecuted for their political beliefs, starting with fighting to lift the COVID mandates in my district.
